    A proud Richmond, Virginia, native, she is passionate about fostering workplace belonging. Aaliyah earned a degree in Media Arts and Design with a specialization in journalism and a minor in Sociology and Political Communication from James Madison University in 2020. She began her career in public service as one of the youngest members of Mayor Levar Stoney’s administration, where she led communications, community engagement, and public safety initiatives. In addition to her current role at the University of Richmond, she actively manages her small business, focusing on social media strategy and community storytelling.

    Aaliyah is deeply involved in civic & community engagement. She is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. serving the greater Petersburg, VA, area.

    Committed to lifelong learning, Aaliyah is currently pursuing her MBA with a focus in data analytics at the Robins School of Business, with an expected completion in 2026.
