The Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration at the University of Richmond brings the community together to reflect on Dr. King’s enduring legacy and to advance the University’s commitment to justice, inclusion, belonging, and service. Through campus-wide events, conversations, and engagement opportunities, the celebration invites participants to consider Dr. King’s teachings and their relevance to our contemporary work of building a more inclusive and compassionate community.
Upcoming Celebration

The University of Richmond invites the campus and greater community to gather in celebration of the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through an evening of reflection, learning, and connection.
The 2026 MLK Celebration will take place on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, and will feature a keynote address from President Makola M. Abdullah, Ph.D., President of Virginia State University.
